Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge Blog

Owner – Andrée

Hi, I'm Andrée Crowe. I'm a freelance card designer, papercrafter, mixed media tutor and demonstrator. I'm a married mother to three grown up daughters and Nana to four grandchildren, one of whom we are now raising as her guardians. I've been crafting since I moved to Pembroke in South West Wales, UK, in 2006 with my husband and youngest daughter. We spent 13 years renovating an old neglected house and I finally got a craft room - known as the dungeon - where I like to play with paper, card, textures, inks, paints, dies, stencils etc and get thoroughly messy.

DT Member and Coordinator
Judy

Hi, my name is Judy McKay and I live in beautiful Vernon, British Columbia Canada with my husband . We have 3 sons and 4 beautiful grandsons. I retired from the Provincial Government as a manger about 6 years ago .  I spent most of my working career working in the legal profession and managing a large group of employees.  I made cards off and on during the last few years before retirement but never had time to pursue my interest in different forms of arts and crafts.
Retirement has allowed me to have time to search for my creative side.  I love mixed media, home decor, assemblages,  altering projects , all types of paper crafts  and encaustic wax.  I love to try new things.

DT Member - Ina

My name is Ina and I live in Queensland Australia.

I have been married for going on 50 years and lucky my hubby supports my hobby as I do his - Guitars. I have been crafting for several years now, starting off Scrapbooking and then got hooked on card making. I have a variety of styles depending on the occasion and who they are for. Being retired gives me plenty of time to indulge in my craft. I love inking up my stamps, embossing and using my dies. I'm now hooked on mixed media, inky fingers and all.
I enjoy the friendships you develop with fellow Designers and learn so much from their styles and likes. Looking forward to New Adventures creating with The Talented Ladies at Creative Artiste Mixed Media.

  DT Member - Jo

My name is Jo and I blog at Let’s Art Journal. I live by the sea in the North West of England with my hubby. I started Art Journaling in 2015 as a way of expressing my life through words and pictures and it has now become a passion of mine which I like to share with others. I’m captivated by the variety of techniques and materials that can be used to create so many different styles of art and love everything Mixed Media. I love nothing better than to experiment with different techniques and products, get creative, put my ideas into practice and have lots of fun doing so!
I am often inspired by things I see and do, so my art journal page today is inspired by the quote “never lose your sense of wonder”.

DT Member - Tracey

Hello everyone it's Tracey here and I'm over the moon to now be part of the Creative Artiste Design Team. From a very young age I have enjoyed creativity, drawing, painting, sewing and the ability to mix it all up where ever possible. Nature helps inspire and guide my creative journey and I often lose myself in the process of adding attention to detail going back to work on projects weeks, months and sometimes years later just to add that extra touch. As a Carer life can be busy but when time is my own you will always find me making the most of it in my crafty corner xx

I am delighted to have been asked to join the Creative Artiste design team. I have been married for 37 years this year and have two children and two grandchildren.  My husband and I are now retired and live in a beautiful part of Wales. I have been crafting for over 20 years and have run my blog for nearly the same time.  I am a member of quite a few Design Teams which I find really helps keep me motivated.  I am also the owner of the popular Facebook GroupThe Joy of Sets which has nearly 3,000 members from all over the world who love to craft.

DT Member - Anita

Hi! I'm Anita. I've been interested in all things crafty for as long as I remember, and I'm lucky that my family encourages my artistic side and is my creative sounding board. I've explored various artistic pursuits over the years, many of which I still enjoy and blog about. I started art journaling and dabbling with mixed media a few years ago, and I'm grateful for the fun and relaxation that it provides. For today's project, I've made an art journal page on wax paper using watercolors, soft pastels and other mediums. My Blog: https://beadscharmsandwire.wordpress.com/

DT Member - Emma

My name is Emma and I'm very lucky to live in beautiful Cornwall in the UK and my crafting is very much inspired by my surroundings, when I'm not crafting I'm out enjoying our flora, fauna and beaches.  I love to just take time out to sit in the garden watching the changing seasons as plants and flowers come and go and listen to the wildlife, the buzz of the bees and the birds singing.....although most of our birds are seagulls so its more like a screech than a tune!  We've had the same pair of seagulls nesting for years which are quite friendly, whenever I'm in the garden they come down and sit beside the cats being sociable, every year we watch their chicks grow and go.

I'm a craft addict. I got into papercrafting about 20 years ago now and then I found rubber stamps which led me to a path of mixed media, I especially enjoy creating little scenes which are usually inspired by nature, most of the time I just follow my muse not knowing how the end result will look so its always a surprise......I love colour, so usually everything is full on colour.   Its an honour to be on the DT for Creative Artiste Mixed Media Challenge, I hope my work inspires you to give it a go - there is no right or wrong, just pick up your different mediums, have a play and have fun.
