I live in Derbyshire in the UK, with hubby and four cats. I am flexibly retired NHS nurse - currently working only 10 hours a week. I enjoy card making, and was introduced to die cutting by my mum many, many years ago. I don't have a particular card making style, and usually just go with the flow, with whatever takes my fancy at the time. Mixed media is something I enjoy playing around with, though I'm still getting to grips with the different mediums and how they react with each other - but it certainly a fun (and messy) learning curve.

I’m honored to be this month’s guest designer at Creative Artiste Mixed Media challenge blog. My name Erika, and I live in New Hampshire in the northeast of the US. I love making art and always have been crafty. The more types of media I can use, the better. The best days are the ones I end up with messy fingers. I love all types of crafting which can be problematic when there are only 24 hours in a day and going to work gets in the way…lol! I first found paper-crafting in 2006 when undergoing treatment for cancer and I know that many people will have found crafting the same way and find crafting great therapy! Over the years my style has changed and I found mixed media, was lucky enough to design a range of stamps for PaperArtsy and now try to journal every month. Our second talented Guest Designer for October is ...

Nelleke

Hello, my name is Nelleke, I am 67 years old and live in a small village in the Netherlands. I am married to Wim, and together we have 5 children and 5 grandchildren.I have been making cards for a long time. The last 12 years I have learned many new techniques, like working with ink. This card is made with distres oxide and photo paper (this may be cheap photo paper). I smeared the ink on the paper until I thought it was enough. Then I rubbed it out with a soft cloth to create a nice sheen. Several times I used the JIJ punch to raise it.
