Our talented Guest Designer for December is ....

Annie

I have been crafting and sewing for as long as I can remember. My Grandmother was a seamstress and taught me so much as I was growing up. My mother also sewed but she was a very creative crafter too. These women have been my inspiration for these art forms. My interest in paper crafting came when I discovered rubber stamping and scrapbooking. I was creating mixed media pieces before I even knew mixed media was a thing. I just thought it was considered crafting. With the daily introduction to new supplies, WOW, the possibilities for crafting and art are endlessly inspirational. My biggest and most precious joy these days is that I’m retired now and can spend all day playing. With endless online inspiration, I’ll never be bored.

It’s December! I love listening to Christmas music while I make. It makes me feel so joyful and hopeful. Anywhere I go, every expression of holiday spirit makes me smile and feel good inside. I wish the world a very Merry Christmas!

Our talented Guest Designer for November is ....

 Happily retired, but doing some ad hoc merchandising. Next time you are in a Supermarket and see one of those cardboard promo stands you’ll know it was built by someone like me. It takes paper craft and card construction skills to set them up!

Art & Craft has been part of my life for as long I can remember, I often tell the story of the Christmas Card making set my Mother got for me when I was about 7 years old pots of glue and glitter to go on pre printed cards it didn't get better than that back then.

Moving through the years and knitting became my creativity of choice, until I got a cat have you tried knitting with yarn a cat has just sucked? Don’t bother it is just not worth it. A few cats later I got into jewellery making and wire work, hum “What's that? It moved, I want to catch it and play with it!” That put paid to that. As many crafters will tell you Cats and Craft do go together but not always the way you want them to.

In the background to a lot of this was rubber stamping and mixed media and it is to those that I return time and again. I’ve been a fan of Creative Artiste for many years now and am delighted to be back as Guest Designer this month.

Our talented Guest Designer for October is ....

My name is Emma and I'm a craft addict. I love anything papercraft and ventured into mixed media a couple of years ago. I love to build up little scenes with stamped characters, taking a lot of inspiration from all the natural flora & fauna that surrounds me which I get out and enjoy as much as possible. I love my colour so most of my projects are very bright and cheerful which I hope puts a smile on the recipient's face as much as it does mine while I'm creating it.
